How the Foundation works
Three commitments. Each one is visible somewhere on this site rather than only stated here.
Through people already there.
Every programme runs with a named partner who was working where the need is before the Foundation arrived, and the partner is named on the page. It does not build a programme and then look for somewhere to put it, and it does not deliver anywhere it would be the newest organisation in the room.
Every number carries its source.
A figure on this site can be traced to the person or document it came from. Where a number exists but has not been confirmed, it is not rounded, softened or published: the gap is left visible instead. A charity under two years old cannot out-argue an established one on scale, but it can be the one that shows its arithmetic.
The unfinished is published too.
The programme register carries the real status of every piece of work, including the ones still in development and the two the family carried out before the charity existed, which are kept separate rather than counted. Nothing is quietly removed because it is inconvenient.
A name with obligations attached
During the Italian Renaissance, the Sforza family helped shape one of history’s greatest periods of artistic and scientific achievement, supporting thinkers and creators including Leonardo da Vinci. Our patronage reflected a belief that those with the ability to improve the human condition should be given the opportunity to do so.
The world has changed. Our responsibility has not.
The Sforza Foundation continues that tradition by supporting those working to improve human health. Where our ancestors invested in the minds that transformed culture, we invest in the people advancing medicine, relieving suffering and building a healthier future.
The room that started it.
The Foundation held its Inaugural Gala Ball in 2025, before it had delivered anything. What it had was a case, a family name, and a room willing to hear both. The costed figure this site is built around comes from that evening.
